Taxidermist- Multi Species Montana Taxidermist
Your successful Montana hunt deserves expert preservation! Give us a call for help selecting the perfect mount, understanding costs and timelines, and ensuring your trophy becomes a lasting memory.
Yes, absolutely! We have extensive experience working with a wide variety of species harvested by hunters and anglers. We routinely handle common North American game including Deer, Elk, Moose, Antelope, Bear, and predators like Mountain Lions and Coyotes. We also offer expert taxidermy services for Fish and various Game Birds.
Our goal is to provide high-quality preservation for almost any species you might successfully harvest. If you have something specific in mind, even if it's not listed, please don't hesitate to ask.
*Special Offer for Our Hunting Clients*: We truly appreciate those who choose to hunt with us! As a thank you, clients who book and complete a hunt directly with our associated outfitting service automatically qualify for a special discounted rate on taxidermy for the trophy animal harvested during that specific guided hunt. It's our way of offering a seamless experience from the field to the finished mount.
We understand you're eager to get your trophy back! Our goal is to complete most taxidermy projects within approximately one year from the time we receive your animal and the required deposit and paperwork are finalized.
Quality taxidermy is a detailed craft that involves several time-consuming steps, including:
- Proper check-in and documentation.
- Hide preparation and the tanning process, which can take several months alone to ensure longevity.
- Ordering and preparing the correct form.
- The mounting, drying, and detailed finishing work, which requires patience and artistry.
Factors like the type of mount, complexity of the project (e.g., custom habitats), and our current workload (especially after busy hunting seasons) also influence the timeline. While we always strive to be efficient, our primary focus is on delivering a high-quality, lasting piece you'll be proud to display. We generally work on projects in the order they are received and appreciate your patience throughout this meticulous process.
We take pride in preserving the memory of your successful hunt and offer several mount styles to best showcase your trophy. Our primary offerings include:
- Shoulder Mounts: This is perhaps the most classic and popular option for animals like deer, elk, antelope, sheep, and similar game. A shoulder mount displays the head, neck, and shoulder portion of the animal, capturing its key features and expression in a space-efficient way. It's a timeless method to honor your harvest.
-Full Body / Life-Size Mounts: For the ultimate display of animals such as bear, mountain lion, bobcat, coyote, or even deer and elk, a life-size mount presents the entire animal. These mounts truly capture the animal's anatomy and presence. We often create these with dynamic poses and can incorporate custom habitat bases (rocks, branches, snow, etc.) to depict the animal in its natural environment for maximum realism and impact.
-Pedestal Mounts: A variation where a shoulder mount (or sometimes a half-body mount) is attached to a freestanding pedestal base, allowing for 360-degree viewing and versatile placement.
Other Mount Styles ("All"): Beyond shoulder and life-size, we also offer other options depending on the species and your preference. This can include:
- European Mounts: Featuring the cleaned and whitened skull, often with the antlers or horns attached, mounted on a plaque or pedestal.
We handle most North American big game species. The best choice depends on the animal, your available space, and your personal vision for the trophy. We're happy to discuss these options with you in detail to help you decide how best to commemorate your hunt!

Montana Elk Hunting is a once in a lifetime experience for most hunters. The journey of our hunt will make a story you will tell at camp for years to come.
I had the pleasure of meeting Erik at the 2024 Elk camp out of Deer Lodge. Erik was part of Mike
Smith's crew with Bartlett Creek Outfitters. I got to know Erik during my 5 days in camp and even
though I didn't punch my tag I had a chance but that's another story. Erik is a middle east combat vet,
cowboy, outdoorsman and most of all a proud father. He is great with the horses and has a lot of
experience and knowledge hunting, trapping and anything outdoors. The other client I was partnered
with tagged a 5x5 and Erik was there to do the heavy lifting. Erik also does taxidermy and has various
mounts at different businesses around the state. He is super easy to get along with and very helpful
with whatever you need. I'm signed up for the 2025 hunt and I can't wait to get back to camp for
another week of good times and making memories..
